Frequently Asked Questions
From volunteering in Western North Carolina to donating to EAC and anything in between, you can find answers to our most frequently asked questions here.

"Can anyone volunteer with EAC?"
Yes, we believe that everyone who loves the environment can find a role at EAC. If you like using your hands we have cleanups, tree-plantings and reusable bag making. If you prefer talking with people we host events and outreach booths. If you like technical things, we have opportunities in Solar, EVs and Energy Efficiency to guide residents and organizations on saving money and the environment.
"If I donate, can I deduct that from my taxes?"
EAC is a 501c3 nonprofit, which means donations to us are tax deductible to the extent allowed by the law. We recommend you consult your tax professional for details on deductions.

"How much of my donations are going towards programs that make positive change in the community?"
EAC is a small, primarily volunteer-driven, community non-profit. We have very low overhead, which means that the majority of donations go directly to support programs. Our average annual programming efficiency is 82%, which is among the highest levels for small nonprofits.
