There is a small town in Japan whose residents recycle 81% of their waste. They have no other option; due to their finances, they cannot outsource their trash. Kamikatsu is 170 miles from Tokyo, and a world away from it in its environmental practice. Read the Guardian article here.

This town is an example of how we all need to start living, now.
